Colliers International Rating Director elected to RSA Committee

A director in Colliers International’s Rating team has been elected as a Committee Member for the Rating Surveyors’ Association (RSA).

Peter Gould has 20 years’ experience in business rates appeals work and specialises in large industrial and distribution warehouses, food stores and car showrooms. Peter was one of six rating professionals in the running for the committee seat and was subsequently voted in by his peers this month to become a fully-fledged committee member for the RSA for a period of four years.

“I am proud to be sitting alongside fellow committee members who make up some of the most esteemed professionals in the business rates community,” said Peter Gould, Director, Colliers International. “I look forward working closely with the wider Committee and the other important bodies within our sector, such as the Valuation Office Agency and Valuation Tribunal, to ensure open lines of communication are upheld as we collectively strive for the continuous improvement of the business rates system.”

The RSA is a professional organisation representing the interests of experienced Chartered Surveyors who specialise in the field of business rates. The Association has over 425 members drawn from private practice, corporate bodies, the Valuation Office Agency and local authorities.

John Webber, Head of Rating at Colliers International, added: “The Rating Surveyors’ Association is unique in that it represents both the public and private sectors to ensure all those working within the field of business rates comply with the highest of professional standards. The RSA is the leading voice for the rating industry, so to have one of our directors elected to the committee is a great honour and, given the competition for the seat, clearly a fantastic achievement for Peter.”
