Topps Tiles commits to central London’s newest trade park

Topps Tiles, the UK’s largest tile specialist has secured a unit on the Howard Group’s Surrey Canal Trade Park in Lewisham. The new 5,100 sq ft tile centre is due to open its doors in July.

The five unit trade park, constructed in an area of massive regeneration and investment in north Lewisham, has proved incredibly popular with trade counter occupiers and four of the five available units have now been let within months of practical completion.

Warren Bester, property acquisitions manager at Topps Tiles, said: “We are very pleased to be opening at Surrey Canal Trade Park. This striking development is a fantastic addition to our 346 strong portfolio. This prominent location allows us an excellent opportunity to meet the tiling needs of the local residence in a location where good quality, accessible premises have been difficult for us to locate previously. The development is a part of the area’s wider regeneration which Topps is pleased to be a part of and we look forward to being a bright feature of both the scheme and the local area.”

Colin Brown, development manager at Howard Group, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Topps Tiles to the line-up as our latest national occupier at Surrey Canal Trade Park. As a leader in its sector, Topps is a valuable addition to the trade park offering and surrounding area. With nearly all units occupied, we’re excited to find an occupier for the last space and bring five top brands to the borough.”

The park is proving popular with trade occupiers and Topps Tiles will join Crown Decorator Centre, White Villa and one other major national trade occupier. New Bermondsey is an exciting regeneration zone and one of London’s most dynamic growth areas. Significant infrastructure and redevelopment projects are underway which will facilitate over 12,500 new homes and generate massive infrastructure and commercial investment.

Surrey Canal Trade Park provides five trade counter/industrial units ranging from 3,035 sq ft to 6,775 sq ft, all of which benefit from direct roadside frontage. There is one unit remaining, which comprises 6,210 sq ft and will sit between Topps Tiles and a large, national tool and parts supplier.
