Leading commercial property adviser Bilfinger GVA has announced the appointment of a Principal Drainage Engineer to its National Environmental Services team.
Kazi Hasan joins the team, which is based at the company’s Midland office, from AECOM where he managed outline and detailed surface water and foul water drainage design for
residential developments, highway and railway works, design of water supply and sewer pipelines, and undertook hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments.
Kazi has over 10 years of engineering experience, including roles at University of Abertay, Dundee, Mott MacDonald and more recently AECOM.
His clients have included Centro, Highways England, Jaguar Land Rover, Network Rail, Barratt Homes, Prologis UK, Scottish Water, Severn Trent Water and Thames Water.
As a Principal Drainage Engineer, Kazi will further strengthen Bilfinger GVA’s capability in preparing outline and detailed drainage strategies including the planning, design, delivery and maintenance of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) to support planning applications.
Paul Nixon, Head of Bilfinger GVA’s National Environmental team, said: “This recent appointment follows the requirement in local planning policy and subsequent decisions on major developments of ten dwellings or more or equivalent non-residential or mixed developments, which require the use of SuDS for the management of surface water runoff.
“Kazi’s substantial experience and existing reputation in the sector will be invaluable in ensuring the continued delivery of a truly first class service to our clients.”
