Siemens expands at IM Properties’ Blythe Valley Park

Engineering and technology services firm, Siemens PLC has taken a further 4,312 sq ft and committed to IM Properties’ Blythe Valley Park until 2020.

The regear of their current lease means that Siemens now occupies a total of 9,339 sq ft in Cornwall House, which it has occupied since 2009.

Robin Hancock, Siemens, said: “Blythe Valley Park provides us with a great building and environment that suits our needs at a premium business park. The proximity to Solihull and easy accessibility to the M42 motorway has always been appealing and we are very pleased to have completed this deal with IM Properties to expand our occupation and secure this space for a further five years.”

Rob Hemus, IM Properties, said: “Siemens has been an established occupier at Blythe Valley for seven years and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to secure their presence at Cornwall House until 2020.

“The out of town office market is improving and we will be undertaking further refurbishment and improvement works across the park to  maintain and drive Blythe Valley Park forward as the number one business park in the Midlands.’’

With Siemens taking further space, this now leaves only one 2,000 sq ft suite remaining in Cornwall House, which has been fully refurbished to a Grade A standard.

Acquired by IM Properties in December 2014, the 240 acre business park is positioned at Junction 4 of the M42 at the heart of the UK motorway network and just five miles from Solihull Town Centre.

Surrounded by a 90 acre country park, the site is split into two phases with 430,000 sq ft of commercial accommodation across 11 existing buildings under IM’s ownership and a further 44 acres of land offering future development potential in Phase 1.

The full site has planning consent in place for 2 million sq ft of mixed-use space, including the existing development.

Alongside Blythe Valley Park, IM Properties owns a number of key assets in the Solihull Borough, including Solihull Business Park, Mell Square Shopping Centre, and Fore Business Park.

Other occupiers at Blythe Valley Park include Arup, Regus and St James’s Place Wealth Management Group and there is an on-site Busy Bees nursery and a Virgin Active gym for tenants to use.

Joint lettings agents for Blythe Valle Park are CBRE and Savills.
