Care giant takes Churchfields unit

One of the UK’s leading independent care providers has taken space at a Salisbury business centre.

Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has successfully negotiated the letting of Unit 5 on the Paxton Business Centre to Barchester Healthcare Ltd.

The firm has taken a six-year lease of the unit on the Churchfields Industrial Estate for the quoting price of £15,000 per annum leasehold

Myddelton & Major Partner Dean Speer said: “Barchester Healthcare Ltd is one of the biggest independent care providers in the United Kingdom, with a portfolio of over 200 high quality care homes and seven registered hospitals across the country.

“The London-headquartered firm, founded in 1992 by entrepreneur Mike Parsons, has had its premises and fit out team based in Salisbury for several years and has taken a 2,225 sq. ft. unit at Paxton Business Centre, to deal with a wide range of new projects.

“Barchester is alongside the likes of Plumb Center, Toolstation, Magnet, Speedy Tool Hire, Travis Perkins and JT Sydenhams Building Supplies, as well as motor trade dealerships on the Churchfields estate, created in the 1960s and still the city’s most established commercial employment area.”

The similarly sized Unit 4 remains available to let through Myddelton & Major. It is of steel portal frame construction with cavity brick and blockwork elevations and insulated profile steel cladding to walls and roof.

It has a fitted first floor office, cloakroom and kitchenette facilities. The workshop/warehouse space is serviced by and up and over shutter door and there are good loading and access facilities and four allocated car parking spaces per unit.

Myddelton & Major was named the most active agency in Wiltshire in 2015 for the fourth year running by Estates Gazette, the weekly and online magazine of the UK commercial property industry.
