A UK-based biosciences company has been recognised as one of Europe’s leading and most innovative microbial product developers, after emerging victorious at a number of prestigious awards.

Genesis Biosciences, based in Cardiff, has had a string of triumphs this year after successfully launching their new Evogen microbial product range, Evogen Professional, and winning two prestigious awards for their innovation and scientific breakthroughs.

Since establishing, the company has been creating a series of waves in scientific advancements. The company is the first to develop, manufacture and offer both microbial and antimicrobial products, and is currently the market leader in bacteria fermentation.

Technology and innovation are at the heart of Genesis Biosciences. The small but highly qualified and experienced team is constantly striving to create and introduce new scientific advances to the market, punching way above its weight. Ongoing investment in research and development ensures Genesis Biosciences is placing itself as one of the industry’s most innovative companies; continually creating unique products and solutions for markets around the world.

These now include Evogen Professional, a microbial, eco-benign® range of high performance cleaning products for the facilities management sector through to high-count bacillus bacteria products which increase the water quality in fish farms, improving fish survival, health and subsequent yield by 40%.

In light of their scientific breakthroughs, the company competed alongside world-renown Award finalists including GlaxoSmithKline, Coca Cola Enterprises and KMPG and was awarded the ‘Product Innovation’ category at edie’s Sustainability Leaders Awards 2015.

Judges at the Awards described Evogen as an extremely exciting and innovative product, with massive potential. Primary Judge edie’s 2015 Sustainability Leaders Awards and Head of Programme at RSA Great Recovery, Lucy Chamberlain said: “Evogen radically changes the way we think about cleaning; about the environment and about our responsibility to use a more effective, lower cost, ‘friendly’ alternative to chemical cleaners.”

In addition to being awarded an international award, Genesis Biosciences overcame stiff competition to be crowned Technology and Innovation Business of the Year 2015 at the inaugural Cardiff Business Awards, which was established to celebrate the entrepreneurial and innovative ventures leading the way within the Welsh capital city.

Speaking about their successes, John Clark, managing director for Genesis Biosciences, said: “Winning these awards is the culmination of extensive research into application-specific bacteria which has resulted in unrivalled results across a series of markets.

“The whole concept of the Evogen range is to provide the lowest environmental impact product to every cleaning solution. We have made giant strides in the facilities management, marine and waste water treatments markets and are extending the applications to many other sectors globally.

“This recognition is well deserved by the small and dedicated teams here in Cardiff and across the ocean in our Lawrenceville manufacturing facility and we are delighted to receive the honour and can legitimately compete on a global stage.”
