One of the world’s largest suppliers of commercial vehicle spare parts in the independent aftermarket sector has opened a base in the Black Country.

Diesel Technic UK & Ireland Ltd has opened at Building 92, Bay 1, The Pensnett Estate, which is owned and managed by London & Cambridge Properties.

The company, the 100% owned subsidiary of German-based Diesel Technic, has agreed a ten-year lease at the 10,419 sq ft industrial unit on the estate, which is one of Europe’s largest secure industrial estates.

Although expectations are that the company will grow fast and create local jobs in areas such as sales and customer service, it has not yet put a number on the number of roles that are likely to be created.

The company will support the distribution partners of Diesel Technic, said Richard Popplewell, general manager Diesel Technic UK & Ireland.

“The new subsidiary will offer them a competent aftermarket full-service,” he said. “Distribution partners will benefit from a reliable supply, optimal product availability and fast delivery times. The customer service will support the distribution partners in all matters relating to the brand DT Spare Parts and the logistics team will take care of the smooth supply chain and the reliable supply of spare parts.”

The company selected The Pensnett Estate because it wanted to be close to its distribution partners and also because it has easy access to the nationwide road network.

Andrew Preston, industrial portfolio manager of London & Cambridge Properties, said: “We worked closely with Diesel Technic UK & Ireland to provide a site that met the company’s needs. The Pensnett Estate offers a range of benefits to companies with complex logistical needs, such as 24-hour security and we were delighted to welcome another global name to our list of tenants.”
