Kosei Pharma UK expands operations at Slough Trading Estate

SEGRO plc (SEGRO) has announced that Kosei Pharma UK (Kosei), the leading distributor of pharmaceutical products in the Japanese market, has expanded its UK operations by taking an additional 13,010 sq ft warehouse on the Slough Trading Estate.

Kosei landed at the Slough Trading Estate in 2010 and now occupy over 23,000 sq ft across two properties and employ more than 140 people.

Paul Lewis, SEGRO’s Regional Director for the Thames Valley & National Logistics, said:

“We were pleased to be able to work with Kosei to meet their expansion requirements. This is further evidence that the Estate is now an internationally recognised location for continued inward investment to the region.”

Kohei Toda, UK Managing Director, Kosei Pharma UK, said:

“We set up our UK headquarters on the Slough Trading Estate in 2010 and since then we have worked tirelessly to establish the company as the leading distributor of pharmaceutical products to the UK market. In this time we have gained our licenses as a wholesaler and for assembly, as well as established relationships with top wholesalers and manufacturers, so as to provide a wide range of products and a diverse supply chain.

“We have worked closely with SEGRO throughout our development as a company in the UK and they have always offered exemplary support and guidance to us whenever we have needed additional facilities and space. The Estate has been the ideal location for the company, with its first-class transport connections and the flexibility to allow us to expand and grow our business from our small humble beginnings in this market.”

Slough Trading Estate is currently undergoing a programme of redevelopment to maintain its status as a world-class business destination. The Estate continues to attract new business with 240,000 sq ft of new development completed last year, including new facilities for Fedex and Sovrin Plastics. To help meet continued demand, the Estate has 230,000 sq ft of speculative development due for completion over the next 18 months.

Kosei is one of many multinational companies established on the Estate, which also includes Ferrari, Bidvest 3663 and NTT Gyron International.
