CBRE secures city centre relocation for Vision Express

Leading property consultancy CBRE has announced that its client, national opticians and optical retailer, Vision Express, has taken a unit at a new city centre location, expanding its strong presence in Scotland.

Vision Express has taken the 2,700 sq ft ground floor only space, based at 24 Frederick Street, on a ten year FRI lease with stepped rent starting at £167,500 per annum subject to five yearly upwards only rent reviews.

Callum Mortimer, director in CBRE’s Retail team in Edinburgh, commented: “Vision Express asked us to advise on its proposed acquisition of new space within the city centre, predominantly driven by the impending closure of its St James Centre branch and subsequent need for a new home.

“The new site on Frederick Street is situated in the heart of the city centre and will no doubt work well alongside some of the other new entrants to the street including Le Creuset and Pretty Green.  The unit itself is a good size and benefits from a very prominent double fronted window display.”

Callum Mortimer of CBRE acted for Vision Express whilst Isla Monteith of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord.
