G F Tomlinson drives forward £2.4m car showroom in Midlands

Midlands-based construction firm, G F Tomlinson has completed work on a £2.5m warehouse and car show room on behalf of Kia.

Situated at Centrum 100 Business Park in Burton upon Trent, the 1.6-acre development includes office space, a six-bay workshop, building for valeting and capacity for 150 cars.

The scheme took six months to complete after G F Tomlinson Group sold the land to Kia and agreed a deal to build on the land.

Adam Redpath, director of Burton Kia said: “This is a fantastic development for us which will allow Burton Kia to further enhance the consumer experience whilst show casing the increasingly popular Kia brand in a state of the art showroom.

Andy Sewards, director for G F Tomlinson said the construction team enjoyed working with Kia on the unique development.

“We are delighted that Kia decided to purchase part of our four-acre development site at Centrum Gate, Burton upon Trent and then agreed for us to develop and construct its modern car dealership scheme on the site,” he said.

“The striking building, reflecting the shape of a cube, is one of only three of its kind in the UK and features a red curved design alongside a prominent glass frontage and sides.

“Our team has really enjoyed working with Kia on this unique development which will further enhance the growth of business in and around the Centrum 100 development.”
