A fast-growing accountancy firm has promoted two members of its team in Coventry.

Mark Butler has become a director at Baldwins Accountants, which is one of the region’s largest family-owned accountancy practices, in Binley Road, Binley, while his colleague Caroline Finn has been promoted to audit manager.

Thirty-five-year-old Mark worked at accountants in Warwick and Coventry after graduating from the University of Worcester.

Following a spell travelling the world, he joined Baldwins Accountants in Nuneaton in 2008 before moving to Coventry when the two offices merged in 2012.

The Coventry City season-ticket holder has been promoted from associate director to join John Edwards, Peter West and Richard Clayton as directors in Coventry.

Mark said: “I am looking forward to taking on new challenges as a director at Baldwins Accountants.

“I run my own portfolio, with clients across the Midlands and as far afield as Lincolnshire, London and Brighton, providing corporate and personal tax advice as well as specialising in corporate re-structures, corporate planning and tax planning.

“Baldwins is growing all the time with acquisitions across the Midlands and Mid-Wales. We are seeing an upturn in business both as a result of the continued economic recovery and as the firm’s profile and reputation gains traction.”

Twenty-eight-year-old Caroline entered the accountancy profession after completing her A-levels at Finham Park School in the city.

After passing her exams to become a qualified accountant, she worked in the finance department at Severn Trent’s headquarters in Coventry.

Caroline moved back into the accountancy profession at practices in Buckinghamshire and Leicester before joining Baldwins in 2013 as an accounts and audit semi-senior.

She said: “I joined Baldwins because I recognised it as a progressive firm that was prepared to back and promote its staff on the basis of ability rather than time served. I qualified as a chartered accountant last December and am now looking forward to the challenges of my new role.

“I enjoy working in what is a relatively young team but is fully supported by experienced local directors and sector specialists across the Baldwins group.”

John Edwards, partner at Baldwins Accountants, said: “Mark and Caroline’s promotions are fully deserved both for their skills and commitment. I am sure that both will play a major part in Baldwins’ continued growth and success.”
