Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell completes Latchmore House sale as Hughes Spencer relocates to Stansted House

On behalf of accountants Hughes Spencer, Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell has sold Latchmore House, Cowplain to AB1 Developments Ltd.  Hughes Spencer has been based at Latchmore House since 1969 undertaking substantial changes to the original building including a two storey extension and more recently adding PV panels to the south facing roof.

Latchmore House sits on a well located plot on the corner of London Road and Latchmore Forest Grove.  The 4,300 sq ft property also has some 20 parking spaces and while offers were received in excess of the asking price of £500,000, AB1 Developments’ plans appealed to Hughes Spencer, who was happy to settle for slightly under asking price.”

Commenting on the sale Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell Director, Stuart Mitchell said: “Having been appointed to sell Latchmore House, we received good levels of interest. With the potential for redevelopment, it suits AB1 Developments’ needs”.

Hughes Spencer will be relocating to new premises at Stansted House, a prestigious office location on the outskirts of Rowlands Castle.  Ian Shaw from Hughes Spencer commented “We are sorry to be leaving Cowplain after almost 50 years, but the opportunity to relocate to Stansted House was too good to miss. Our new offices will provide an attractive setting for our clients when they visit and we look forward to welcoming them”.

AB1 Developments’ Paul Shirlaw added: “We have been completing the refurbishment and conversion of the former Aquatic Centre in Portsmouth to shop & flats. Our recent acquisition of Latchmore House fits with our requirements in terms of space, location and potential for development”.
