Coventry office building let

HAUSER GmbH UK has leased a self-contained office building on Oak Court, ProLogis Park, Coventry, leaving just one unit available to buy or to lease on the prestigious office development.

The company, which manufactures energy efficient and innovative chiller and freezer cabinets for the food retail industry, including leading supermarkets like Lidl, Sainsbury’s and Aldi and others, has taken the 2,220 sq ft unit 5, on a five-year lease.

HAUSER will be relocating from its current branch office premises in Tur Langton, near Market Harborough, Leicestershire, this month (January), as part of an expansion of its UK operations. The Midlands-based business imports refrigeration display cases made by its parent company in Austria, and in the Czech Republic, and incorporates a refrigeration engineering service department.

Managing Director Paul Broadhurst said: “Space is an issue where we are at present, so we need to move to a larger facility, to give us more scope for expansion over the coming years.

“We did look at other places in Coventry, but they were either too far away, or too difficult to get to, so we chose Oak Court, which is only half an hour away from where we are now, and centrally placed for the motorway links.”

He added:  “HAUSER was able to realize a huge growth during the last few years and become one of the leading companies in Europe for refrigeration. I think it´s the ideal place to continue this development and our UK expansion”

Oak Court is on a 2.3-acre site on ProLogis Park, close to Junction 3 of the M6, owned by Abacus Developments, the development arm of Sir Robert McAlpine.  The development comprises seven courtyard buildings, totally 22,000 sq ft, each unit benefiting from its own self-contained office suite, front door and car parking.

Other high-profile occupiers on the development include Comau Estil, part of the Fiat Group, Delta Energy Services, which provides engineering services to the oil and gas industry, and leading UK cleaning contractor Regent Cleaning.

Rupert Gillitt, of property agents D&P Holt, said: “This deal gets the New Year off to a good start in the area and, once again, highlights the quality and location of Oak Court. We now have just one property left, to buy or to rent, Unit 4, a 1,865 sq ft suite, which is already attracting strong interest.”

HAUSER represented themselves, and Rupert Gillitt, of D&P Holt, and Andrew Pittaway, of AP Commercial, represented the owners Abacus Developments.

Abacus has the Tripoint site adjacent to Oak Court, extending to 1.5 acres capable of providing a further 30,000 sq ft plus, with extensive parking, on a design and build basis.
