The sporting prowess of more than 170 professionals at the annual Colliers International TRYathlon has helped a locally-based green transport charity.
With entries well up on last year’s event representatives of over 40 local firms took part with competitors able to enter as individuals or in teams of three to take part in a 400m swim, a 16km cycle ride and a 5km run.
All proceeds from registration fees were donated to Sustrans, this year’s chosen charity partner for the Colliers International Bristol office.
Speaking after the event, at Tockington Manor School, head of office Tim Davies said: “Bristol is European Green Capital for 2015, and as part of that we are supporting Sustrans, which works with communities, policy-makers and partner organisations to ensure people can choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys and enjoy better, safer places to live.”
He added: “This was another fantastic Colliers TRYathlon, with numbers up on last year. We hope to see even more people competing next year.”
The Colliers International TRYathlon has been running since 2013, and was launched as a way of bringing together the local business community to get fit and to also raise funds for charity. CEO Tony Horrell and Bristol office head Tim Davies are among those who have competed in every event.
Tim Davies said: “Judging by the record number of firms and competitors taking part, I feel we have established the Trythalon as one of the must-do events in the Bristol business calendar.”
Fastest man at the Colliers International 2015 TRYathlon was Iain Hissett of Hydrock in a time of 55.22. Jo Crofts of Knight Frank was the fastest female competitor while the fastest relay team was from WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff.
