Website launched as window to Bournemouth’s future

A partnership that will deliver major regeneration in Bournemouth Town Centre has launched a website highlighting the plans.

The website, designed and constructed by local web company Yammayap, features information, news and an interactive map of the sites earmarked for improvement by The Bournemouth Development Company.

Duncan Johnston, of The Bournemouth Development Company, said: “We wanted to give the public a clear idea how this partnership between Morgan Sindall Investments Ltd and Bournemouth Borough Council works and to reflect the care being taken to ensure coordinated, attractive and exciting development.

“The team at Yammayap in Poole listened carefully to our requirements and our final website is well designed, simple to navigate and a great window to our work in Bournemouth.”

The Company has pledged to use local skills wherever possible throughout the 20 -year project. Other firms working with the partnership include chartered accountants and business advisers Princecroft Willis, communications specialists Deep South Media and planning, design and environment consultancy Terence O’Rourke.

The partnership is a major delivery vehicle for the Town Centre Vision. 16 Council-owned sites have been identified for improvement over the next 20 years and the website will be regularly updated to highlight emerging plans and consultations.  Leyton Mount Car Park is the first site to come forward, with a planning application submitted for homes and commercial units.  A consultation over early plans for Madeira Road Car Park will be carried out soon.
