Cardiff based ActiveQuote – the UK’s leading comparison site for health and protection insurance – has won another significant contract as it continues to expand its operations in the city.
It already delivers health insurance comparisons for uSwitch and has now been chosen to provide life insurance comparison services to their customers. uSwitch is one of the big 5 comparison sites and the new contract has created eleven new jobs, increasing their sales team by nearly 20%.
This follows significant contract wins to operate health insurance and protection insurance comparison sites on behalf of Confused.com, GoCompare and Money.co.uk.
As a result the company is undergoing a major expansion; it now employs 89 staff with plans to grow to 100 during the second half of 2015. The expansion is supported by the Welsh Government.
ActiveQuote has already moved from Mount Stuart Square to larger Grade A offices in Cardiff Bay to accommodate its growth.
ActiveQuote has developed its own highly sophisticated software to provide on-line price comparisons for these specialist insurance products and uses its own technology platform to deliver the services on behalf of some of the UK’s largest aggregators.
The business partnership with uSwitch marks another step in ActiveQuote’s expansive growth since it was founded in 2009 by Managing Director Dr Richard Theo who has a PhD in Computer Networks from Cardiff University and applied his software expertise to innovate within financial services.

ActiveQuote is not only providing the technology to uSwitch but also providing customers with personal advice about life insurance.
Its life insurance comparison technology is available on the uSwitch website, enabling customers to purchase directly online and they can also contact ActiveQuote life insurance specialists for free, impartial advice who can manage the entire policy set up process.
