Self-storage firm unlocks the door to expansion

A leading self-storage company has opened a new branch in Eastleigh, Hampshire, after agreeing a 10-year lease with leading national commercial property consultants Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).

Sentry Self Storage, a family-owned and run business, has selected Unit 4, Trafalgar Close, Chandlers Ford Industrial Estate, as the location for its 17th branch. The 17,775 sq ft premises will offer storage facilities from 16 sq ft for personal and business customers.

LSH acted on behalf of its client Horatio Properties (Guernsey) Ltd to secure the new tenant at the unit, which has had a new roof after being vacant for three years.

Adrian Whitfield, director of industrial and logistics agency at LSH’s South Coast office, said a lack of similar sites in the area, coupled with an improving economy, meant that the unit, which fronts the main road on the industrial estate, proved ideal for Sentry Storage.

“It’s pleasing to see that the unit has been given a new lease of life, given that it stood empty during the downturn,” he said. “The prominence of the site will enable the new tenants to benefit from good trade on the estate.”

Mark Hickman of Sentry Self Storage, added “Due to the success of our Toynbee Road premises in Eastleigh, we have been looking for another premises in the area and we believe Unit 4 is just right for our needs. It will enable us to offer a further range of storage options for business and personal customers.”

Unit 4 is located in a prominent position on School Lane within the popular Chandlers Ford Industrial Estate. The estate offers good access to junctions 12 and 13 of the M3, while Chandlers Ford railway station is just 1/2 a mile away.

The warehouse unit benefits from clear span warehouse space with a minimum six-metre eaves, first floor offices and parking to the front. There is also a secure yard to the rear and a mezzanine floor of 13,090 sq ft.

LSH acted as joint agents with Warwick Martel for Horatio Properties (Guernsey) Ltd.
