Leading Westcountry Property Firm Building on Success

Leading South West Property Consultants Vickery Holman have boosted their Professional Services team with the appointment of Nick Corker as Head of Landlord & Tenant across the firm – which has offices in Truro, Plymouth and Exeter.

Nick – who joins Vickery Holman from the Bristol offices of GVA, the UK’s largest independent commercial property consultant – is based in the Truro office, working alongside Nicola Murrish in Professional Services.

As a Chartered Surveyor who has operated throughout the West Country for a number of years Nick is familiar with market conditions throughout Devon and Cornwall. He brings with him a wealth of experience in identifying asset enhancement opportunities, asset management, rent reviews, lease renewals, dispute resolution, lease re-structuring, lease surrenders, break options and providing general lease advice.

Relocating his young family to the Duchy just in time for the summer Nick comments “It has been a long term goal to bring the family back to Cornwall and to find such an exciting opportunity with such a well-established, respected and dynamic firm was perfect.”

Nick Holman, Head of Professional Services adds “As our workload increases employing specialists like Nick, in core areas of our business is vitally important in providing the best service to our clients. He is a talented and committed surveyor whose skills complement our existing services perfectly.  In addition, Nick’s arrival allows me to develop my dispute resolution roles as a RICS panel arbitrator and independent expert and as an expert witness.”

Managing Director Mark Pellow sees this appointment as a further step in building on recent successes and says, “Our position as the largest firm of independent property consultants based in Devon & Cornwall has been built on providing expertise locally, a strategy which has served us well since 1846 and Nick’s appointment is a perfect fit.  The company has seen an increase in its staffing levels during the recession as a result of providing high quality professional advice to our client which has enabled us to emerge with a larger market share. The challenge now is to build on this success.”
