8- 9 St Austin’s Friars

TSR and Morris Property have let 8-9 St Austin’s Friars situated within the heart of Shrewsbury’s leisure quarter, Victoria Quay. The property has been occupied by The National Gold Standards Framework Centre, which is the UK’s largest provider of end of life care training for health and social care professionals. The GSF team, which works with doctors, nurses and care home staff across the country, has almost doubled in the last year and so was outgrowing its previous base nearby in Shrewsbury Town Centre.

The property comprises two mews style office buildings which are adjoining. They had been altered to provide 1,909 sqft (177.3 sqm) of interconnecting office accommodation. The office comes complete with kitchen and staff facilities and is situated in a sought after location close to the River Severn and The Quarry. The property also benefits from on-site parking and the luxury of being close enough to the town centre to walk to local amenities and shops.

Liz Lowe of Morris Property said: “We are extremely pleased we were able to facilitate the relocation of GSF to these unique town centre offices. By working closely with the tenants we were able to meet their aspirations in terms of accommodation and speed of delivery.”

Residents of GSF trained and accredited care homes are twice as likely to live well and die well in the place and manner of their choosing rather than be admitted to hospital inappropriately. Almost half of all nursing homes in England have completed the programme. In primary care, 95 per cent of GP practices have adopted GSF at a foundation level.

Keri Thomas, GSF Clinical Director said the move to the new premises in Victoria Mews couldn’t have gone more smoothly and the offices were proving an excellent new centre for the team.

She added: “In our experience, Liz Lowe and her team have been very helpful, attending to all queries in a prompt and professional manner. We really appreciate the service we have received from Morris Property, especially the smooth transition into the new premises. We were up and running in the same day which meant there was minimal disruption for us as a business.”
