St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has been given the green light to progress with its plan to create a range of new employment units as part of the second phase of development at Great Western Business Park in Worcester.
The developer was granted planning permission for the creation of six new warehouse and light industrial units which, when built, will deliver from 3,500 to 5,500 sq ft of individual space for occupiers.
The new units will form part of the second phase of development at the Park that will also be the home of a new, purpose built facility for Hereford & Worcester Fire Service Authority (HWFA).
Great Western Business Park is located within two miles of Junction 6 of the M5 motorway on a prominent brownfield development east of Worcester city centre. The new units aim to complement existing accommodation on site and satisfy an appetite for space at the popular location.
Jonathan Green, development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “We’re pleased to have been granted planning permission to move forward with the next phase of work at Great Western Business Park. The new units alongside the bespoke facility for HWFA will bring considerable employment opportunities to the location.
“We expect to see substantial demand from local occupiers for the units, as they will offer modern, flexible accommodation in a prime location that is close to all amenities and within easy reach of the region’s motorway network. The units will help meet current and future demand and add to the existing reputation of Great Western Business Park as a prime location for business.”
Work on the new units is expected to get underway soon, with completion due by the end of the year. When complete the units will be available to lease or buy.
