GVA donates books to Manchester kids for World Book Day

The Manchester office of GVA has rallied round to donate 132 children’s books to the Wood Street Mission to celebrate World Book Day.

Based in the centre of Manchester, The Wood Street Mission is a charity which has been set up to offer practical help and services to families and children living in Manchester and Salford who are affected by poverty.

The Wood Street Mission had advised GVA that it had a lack of books for children aged eight years and above, so the team focussed on donating books for this age group.

The book collection is just one of a number of initiatives GVA has planned for the Wood Street Mission in 2014. As the Manchester office’s designated charity, the team has also pledged to donate school uniforms for the start of the new school term in September and Christmas presents later in the year.
