Chantrey Vellacott to host economic update for owner managed businesses

National accountants Chantrey Vellacott are to reveal findings of its business barometer report at an event next month.

Chantrey Vellacott surveyed Owner Managed Businesses (OMBs) from across the country at the back end of 2013 and will be presenting key findings during an event being hosted by the firm at the Charlotte Street Hotel in the city on Wednesday, March 5.

Mark Berrisford-Smith, head of economics, UK Commercial Banking at HSBC Bank, will also be presenting on the economic outlook for OMBs in 2014.

Mike Tovey, managing partner at Chantrey Vellacott, said: “Interestingly, the report found that 76 per cent of respondents expect their business to perform better this year than in 2013, while 28 per cent expect performance to be much better.

“More than 200 business owners, sole traders and entrepreneurs contributed to the report and we’re looking forward to sharing some of the other key findings on March 5.

“We’re also really pleased Mark Berrisford-Smith is joining us. As head of economics, UK Commercial Banking at HSBC Bank, Mark advises the bank in the UK and its business customers on developments in the British and global economies.

“Mark is extremely well placed to provide businesses and guests joining us with an expert analysis of the outlook for 2014.”

The event on March 5 begins at 5.30pm, ahead of a welcome and introduction at 6pm, with networking and canapés from 7pm.

Further events are also being held by the firm in Reading on March 4, and in Birmingham on March 20.
