A changing world for professional practices

Business leaders involved in professional practices across the South can catch up on latest sector insights being offered by accountancy and investment management group Smith & Williamson.

The South Coast office is hosting the complimentary event at the Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel, Chilworth, Southampton, from 9.30am to 1pm on Thursday, February 27, with refreshments included.

Victoria Brackett, who leads the strategy for regional law firm Thomas Eggar LLP as Managing Partner (MP), is a guest speaker.

Prior to her election as MP she was head of the commercial disputes practice group and has more than 15 years of experience in resolving disputes for clients.

In addition, members of Smith & Williamson’s professional practices team will share views of the sector and draw upon the latest results of Smith & Williamson’s 19th annual survey of the legal market.

According to the survey, optimism in the legal sector is the most positive it has been since 2007; 82% of respondents are confident about the coming year, up from 61%, as the economy rallies.

There will also be a presentation on some of the far-reaching changes to tax legislation which will affect many in the sector and come into force in April.

The seminar is designed for the senior management of professional service firms including those operating in the legal, architectural, engineering and property service sectors.

The event, for which attendees do not need prior knowledge, qualifies for Continuing Professional Development points.
