Graduates take first step on property career path

Two graduates have taken their first steps on the property career path by securing placements at CBRE in Birmingham.

Abigail Barnes and Will Sherlock have joined the firm having graduated from Northumbria University and Oxford Brookes University respectively with a degree in estate management.

As part of their two-year graduate placement, the pair will rotate between departments to gain practical experience in both the professional and agency sides of the business. Abigail is currently in office agency while Will is in lease consultancy.

Martin Guest, managing director at CBRE in Birmingham, said: “Graduates are the lifeblood of the property industry and it is important that we help support and nurture the next generation of surveyors. At CBRE, we take this responsibility seriously.

“Abigail and Will are just starting out on what will hopefully be a long and successful career in the property industry and I’ll be watching their progress with interest.”

Graduate surveyors Stuart Dolittle and Jonathan Brice have qualified as chartered surveyors, having joined CBRE’s graduate programme from university. Jonathan has joined the investment team while Stuart is in industrial agency.

“My congratulations go to both Stuart and Jonathan on qualifying as chartered surveyors,” said
Mr Guest.

“They have worked hard over the past couple of years and deserve every bit of their success.”
