Former probation service buildings in Derby sold

A prominently located ex-probation service building in Derby city centre has been sold.

Property adviser, DTZ acted on behalf of the Ministry of Justice to agree the sale of the building located on 2 Siddals Road in Derby.

The 6,833 sq ft office building has been sold to leading Derby estate agency, IMS Lettings, who will be using the building to house their growing number of staff. In addition to the office, the site incorporates a 3,100 sq ft hybrid workshop / office unit which has been sold to Skillbase Recruitment and Training who specialise in providing recruitment and training solutions to the construction industry.

The property is located in a prominent position fronting the Westfield Shopping Centre, the A6 and A601 and is within walking distance of the city centre.

Chris Griffin of IMS Lettings commented: “We are delighted to have been able to complete the purchase of such a prominent city location for our new IMS Lettings Academy.”

DTZ has consolidated three separate Derbyshire probation service offices into one now based at Derwent Court in Derby on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.

We have been providing a loyal client-base in the East Midlands for a number of years now, and this is a strategic move to raise our profile in the area.” Skillbase will be ‘open for business’ at Siddals Road from February.
