A top real estate specialist has joined a Dorset law firm to act for clients on property issues.
Nick Dell, a keen yachtsman in his spare time, has made Battens Solicitors the next port of call in his career.
His appointment to the firm’s commercial property team follows a series of property industry roles including six years’ in-house experience as the western region legal director for national house builder Redrow Group plc.
He has also been company secretary and head of legal at Bristol Water plc and worked at partner level for two other law firms.
Mr Dell, who lives near Wells in Somerset, said: “Battens has its roots firmly grounded in property and is well known for its representation and trusted advice in the commercial, residential and agricultural sectors. I look forward to continuing the expansion of our services across Dorset and Somerset.”
Among Mr Dell’s industry specialisms are infrastructure agreements, plot sales, mixed-use developments and the sale of social housing units to affordable housing providers.

Brought up in Gloucestershire, Mr Dell holds a masters degree in law from the University of Bristol and qualified as a solicitor in 1990.
He was President of the Bristol Law Society in 2012 and currently sits as a commercial property representative on its property section executive committee. He is recommended in the industry bible Legal 500 for his commercial property work.
Mr Dell is married with three daughters and in his leisure time has been a crewman on many yacht trips across the Channel and in the Mediterranean. In 2012, he spent ten days sailing from the Azores back to the UK in a Challenger 67 racing yacht.
