Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP has appointed Stuart Howell as their new Managing Partner.

Stuart Howell takes over from John Rand who, after five years in charge, has successfully led the company through one of the most difficult economic period experienced in the UK commercial market. The business has continued to expand especially within the Property and Asset Management sector and the Project & Building Consultancy discipline, retaining and increasing it’s instruction base with Marks & Spencer, Tesco’s and Asda among others.

John Rand will remain Head of Professional Services.

Stuart Howell joined Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP’s London office in 1990 from GRE Properties Ltd. Stuart has been responsible for the expansion of the Property and Asset Management department into one of the leading teams in the UK, as clearly demonstrated by the company’s inclusion on the Government Procurement Services (GPS) Estates Professional Services Framework (RM928) earlier this year, which has provided the company the opportunity to expand it’s public sector team.

Stuart Howell said: “I am delighted to be taking over the role as Managing Partner of Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP at this exciting time as the economy is beginning to emerge from recession opening up many new opportunities for the business, we have just been instructed to provide a Estates Strategy advice to the South Maudsley NHS Trust. We have also recently won the ‘South West Industrial Deal of the Year Award’ from The Insider which has led to increased recognition in the region.”

John Rand said: “The last five years has been a very challenging time for all businesses and I felt the time was right to step down so that I can concentrate on my professional work. I know Stuart will drive the business forward to further success.”
