The Southampton Jones Lang LaSalle’s Office Agency has let the Third Floor of 100 Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth to Arthur J. Gallagher (UK) Limited, a UK subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. The deal represents the biggest individual office transaction within Bournemouth since 2008.
(AJG) is a US-based global insurance brokerage and risk management services firm. AJG was established in 1927 and since then has grown to become one of the largest insurance brokers in the world with over 300 offices in 16 countries, more than 13,000 employees and revenues exceeding US $2.5 billion.
100 Holdenhurst Road attracted the insurance giant with its ability to offer open plan space of 23,429 sq ft on a single floor plate which is ideally suited to a call centre operation. The building, which was originally built by Abbey Life for their own occupation is still a major landmark on the central Bournemouth skyline, and is located in the heart of the commercial area of the town only a few minutes from Bournemouth Railway Station.
Jason Webb, Director of National Office Agency in Southampton commented: “This is a very important letting for the Bournemouth office market, but it was no surprise that AJG decided to take space in 100 Holdenhurst Road, as this was the only space on the market able to offer them floor plates of this size. The Fourth Floor of the building remains available, offering air conditioned and open accommodation of 21,050 sq ft.”
