Voyage of discovery for Cripps Harries Hall

Rising confidence in the East Kent economy has seen the county’s largest law firm open new offices in the area to help serve its growing number of local clients.

Cripps Harries Hall, which has 300 staff, is the first law firm to move into Discovery Park, near Sandwich, putting it on the doorstep of its East Kent clients.

The new office is being led by Technology Partner Irfan Baluch, who said: “There’s a growing community of businesses at Discovery Park, including many in life sciences and fast growing technology-based industries. It makes perfect sense for us to establish a base here to showcase our extensive legal expertise including intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial law.

“The move also recognises that there is a real buzz in East Kent at the moment, with the area benefitting from recent infrastructure improvements, the prospect of further rail investment reducing journey times to and from London and the rest of Kent, as well as access to loans from Expansion East Kent.”

In recent months the improved economic outlook has resulted in Cripps securing new work in East Kent. The office at Discovery Park will help serve those clients, alongside Cripps’ offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kings Hill and London.

Senior Partner Michael Stevens commented: “Thanks to High Speed 1, Manston Airport, Dover Harbour Board and Eurotunnel, this part of Kent is arguably the best connected part of the county for international business, and now is the right time for Cripps Harries Hall to establish an office in the area.”

Irfan Baluch, an IT and Intellectual Property law specialist, will be joined by colleagues specialising in Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial law as well as experts who advise individuals.
