New Birmingham office for Bruton Knowles

Birmingham property consultants Bruton Knowles are relocating to a new office in the Colmore Business District.

The 151-year old firm, which has had a presence in Birmingham for more than 13 years, is moving from 42 Bull Street to the newly refurbished Embassy House, on Church Street. It has taken 3,670 sq ft on the ninth floor of the building on a ten-year lease.

Bruton Knowles provides a range of commercial property services, including acquisitions, sales and lettings, development consultancy, valuations, planning and professional advice, to clients in the office, industrial, retail, leisure and public sectors.

Established in Gloucester in 1862, the company has 12 offices across the UK, including Birmingham, which was set up in 2000, following the firm’s merger with James & Lister Lea.
Since then, the Birmingham team has continued to grow, both in terms of professional headcount and number of clients.

Ian Pitt, partner and head of Bruton Knowles’ Birmingham office, said: “The business is enjoying steady and sustained growth, with new clients and agency instructions being won on a regular basis. As the business continues to develop, we wanted an office that could not only accommodate us as we grow but also provide the right environment for staff.

“Embassy House ticked both these boxes, combining quality office space with a central location. Having been based at 42 Bull Street, an office we inherited from James & Lister Lea, for the past 13 years the time was right for us to make the move.”

DTZ, part of UGL Services, a division of UGL Limited (ASX: UGL), and Jones Lang LaSalle acted on behalf AXA Real Estate Investment Managers. Bruton Knowles acted on their own behalf.

David Rigby, associate director at DTZ, said: “Embassy House is a landmark scheme in Birmingham’s central business district and provides some of the best located office accommodation in the city. The recent programme of improvements implemented by AXA has helped to retain high calibre occupiers such as Chartis, as well as attract new tenants, such as Bruton Knowles, Marston Group and Kings Chambers.”

Suites are available at Embassy House from 3,500 sq ft to 7,500 sq ft.
