Teeing off for our military wounded

Up to 40 businessmen and women across the Portsmouth region are to take part in an inaugural charity golf tournament being held by two local firms.

The event, co-hosted by independent chartered surveyors McAndrew Martin and financial advisers ADN Financial Solutions, takes place at Waterlooville Golf Club, Cowplain, this Tuesday (October 15).

Funds from by the 18-hole challenge, which includes competitions, dinner and prize-giving, will go to Help for Heroes, the charity dedicated to helping members of the Armed Forces wounded in current conflicts.

Event organiser Ian Lee, a director at Portsmouth-based McAndrew Martin, said: “With an entry fee of £45, and £100 sponsorship for each hole, this inaugural tournament will be a memorable way of raising money for an excellent charity which is transforming the lives of hundreds of servicemen and women with life-changing injuries.

“We know we can count on the business community in and around Portsmouth to generously dig deep while mixing business with pleasure.

“‘We are also grateful to ADN Financial Solutions, based in Southsea, for teaming up as fellow headline sponsor of the event.”

McAndrew Martin, which has 14 staff, fields a team of four – James Bengree, Lewis Don, Lee Sergeant and Bruce Scott, with respective handicaps of 28, 12, 19 and 28.
