West Mids IT firm lands new deal

A West Midlands IT company has won the contract to provide a new management software system to a firm that specialises in car parking equipment.

Coleshill-based ACUTEC, which offers a range of IT support to clients as well as software development, has been chosen by Tamworth firm Parking Facilities to create a new system, which will help to revolutionise the company’s processes.

Parking Facilities, which manufactures and supplies a range of parking products – from barriers to pay and display machines – recently moved to a new HQ at Kingsbury Link and is now investing in its IT system.

ACUTEC will have four developers working on the new system, which will be built in three phases – the first of which is set for completion this autumn.

Colin Gillies, development manager at ACUTEC, will lead the team.

He said: “By the time the system is complete, it will offer full life cycle client management system, which means it will manage the whole process of the business.

“It will produce estimates for products for clients and will sync with the financial systems through Sage.

“That will then link into stock controls and produce sales orders and pick lists. Finally, it will allow engineers to gain sign-off for delivery using handheld devices.

“It will be a bespoke system built purely for the needs of Parking Facilities and the industry it is in and we are very much looking forward to working with them on this project.”

Chris Roche, managing director of ACUTEC, said: “We are delighted to be working with Parking Facilities – a fellow West Midlands company, based only a few miles away from us.

“It is a contract that highlights, again, the flexibility and technical know-how we have as a company. While we do service many small, medium and large companies with general IT support, we also offer software development.

“That is crucial for a company such as Parking Facilities, who are not looking for an ‘off-the-shelf’ product but a system tailored to them.”
