Large industrial letting is a ‘big deal’ in St Ives, Cambridgeshire

The latest new industrial letting in St Ives, Cambridgeshire by BTG Eddisons is a ‘big deal’ for its agency in that, at 44,684 sq ft, it’s the largest letting – of any commercial property type – in the town for at least a decade.

The letting of 41 Edison Road – detached warehouse premises of two, distinct production areas, with offices and canteen facilities, among other accommodation – on the Somersham Road Industrial Estate to a locally-based manufacturer follows the unit’s launch to the market last autumn (2025) after comprehensive refurbishment.

As the town’s main trading park, the Somersham Road Industrial Estate, on the northern edge of St Ives, 41 Edison Road was what BTG Eddisons describes as a ‘landmark’ industrial instruction.

Stephen Power, who led BTG Eddisons agency in the letting, said, ”The location of 41 Edison Road was always going to command attention from industrial occupiers needing substantial premises. Its extensive refurbishment added another layer to its tenure appeal.

“There is an ongoing shortage of availability of good quality premises in the industrial property market in the area.

“All of these factors meant this unit was always going to stand out from the crowd in the regional lettings market to operators requiring premises of capacity and quality.”
