Support for business expansion into India

Accountancy and business advisory firm has teamed up with HSBC Bank plc and Sannam S4 to host a ‘Doing Business in India’ workshop which will provide practical advice and guidance on India market entry, as well as addressing the challenges companies already established in India are facing.

The workshop is one of a series to be run throughout the UK, and will take place on Tuesday 12 March at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton. It will be followed by a panel Q&A session by speakers from the three companies.

“The clinic is aimed at being ‘problem solvers’ for the UK SME’s who attend” says Adrian Mutton, Chief Executive of Sannam S4. “We are bringing a strong selection of our team to be on hand to provide free and very specific advice to companies keen on entering or expanding existing operations in India.” says Mutton.

Arbinder Chatwal, Head of India Advisory Services at BDO LLP, comments: “India may seem to be a complex and challenging market, but it is one that cannot be ignored by UK companies that are seeking to expand overseas. India is the second fastest major growing economy after China and offers many opportunities as a result of the growing middle class and young aspiring population of 1.2bn.”

“This event will be tailored to suit the needs of the various companies who are attending and there will be a series of interactions prior to and post event to ensure each British SME we interact with gets the best guidance and support it can” says Chatwal.

At the workshop, BDO Southampton is offering to assist businesses with the following:
· Identifying new sales opportunities, distributors and effective routes to market
· Finding the right local management and employees
· Dealing with corruption and ethics
· Cultural and language barriers
· Red tape – including the complex tax regime
