200,000 sq ft MA6NITUDE units reach completion

Units 11 and 12 at MA6NITUDE, Cheshire’s largest logistics development have achieved practical completion and are ready to occupy. Unit 11 comprises a 149,000 sq ft multi dock unit, while Unit 12 consists of 41,000 sq ft. Both buildings have been built to net zero carbon in construction.

Located just three minutes west of Junction 18 of the M6 motorway close to Middlewich, MA6NITUDE has established itself as the premier manufacturing and warehouse location in the area.

MA6NITUDE Land, the vehicle responsible for the flagship logistics scheme, is a joint venture between Tritax Symmetry and NPL.

In May this year, the partners secured planning permission for the next phase of development at the site, offering a flexible consent for a unit of between 200,000 sq ft and 238,000 sq ft, depending on configuration, together with consent for further accommodation of up to a total of 2.2 million sq ft.

Along with Units 11 and 12, phase four at MA6NITUDE also includes a 156,000 sq ft unit for Swizzels Matlow, which is due for completion this year. The renowned North West confectionery brand will have the capacity to expand to a total of 458,000 sq ft in future phases.

Speaking about the completion of the units, Andrew Bain, Construction Director at Tritax Symmetry, commented: “This latest phase forms part of an ongoing long-term development strategy at MA6NITUDE. The site’s location, which acts as pivotal location between north and south, has given us the confidence to bring forward these units on a speculative basis. GMI has delivered a first class product bringing much needed high quality, sustainable accommodation to the market.”

Matt Pochin, Director at Legat Owen, joint agents for MA6NITUDE with B8 Real Estate and Savills, said: “The last few years have seen constantly rocketing demand for logistics space, and the developers should be applauded for speculatively building these units.

“Now available to occupy, these buildings provide the space that growing North West companies and incoming inward investors alike need to support the region’s ongoing growth.”

Marc Banks, Divisional Managing Director of the main contractor GMI commented: “GMI is proud to have delivered both units on behalf of Tritax Symmetry. We pride ourselves on delivering the very best logistics and manufacturing space and this scheme, built in a prime location in Cheshire, is yet another example of the strong relationship with have with the team at Tritax.”

MA6NITUDE is considered the principal manufacturing and distribution location in the area, and has already welcomed in blue-chip businesses including GO Outdoors, B&M Retail, Wincanton and Kuehne + Nagel.
