Senior hires strengthen growing real estate consultancy

(L-R): Mark Rooke and Mark Johnson, directors and co-founders of MK2 Real Estate; Girish Patel; Louise Lockucewicz; Oliver Bates; and Paul Owen.

Property consultancy MK2 Real Estate has made three senior hires at its office in Birmingham.

Oliver Bates has joined as director in the lease consultancy team, having previously worked at Cushman & Wakefield for eight years.

Girish Patel and Louise Lockucewicz both join as associate director in property management. Girish has joined from Fisher German and Louise from Lambert Smith Hampton.

MK2 has also appointed Mark Goldie as a facilities manager and Paul Owen as a senior surveyor within the building consultancy team.

The appointments take MK2’s total headcount to 23, plus 18 on-site facilities management staff.

Mark Rooke, co-founder and director of MK2 Real Estate, said: “Last year we moved to a new larger office at 57 Cornwall Street to accommodate our long-term expansion plans, growth across the business and individual service lines.

“We’re now seeing the payback of our investment in the new premises with the ability to bring in people as and when required.

“Oliver, Girish and Louise are experienced operators and will be valuable additions to their respective teams.”

Established in 2012, MK2 Real Estate specialises in investment, property management, building consultancy and lease advisory.

In the last 12 months the firm’s turnover has increased in line with projections and on the back of strong performances by its property management and lease advisory teams.

Rooke said: “The property management team has had a stellar year, with assets under management increasing by 50 per cent to £750m and a rent roll of £35m. Similarly, the lease consultancy team has had a strong year, with Oliver’s appointment reflecting the quality of work it is doing for clients such as St Modwen, London Metric, Hortons’ Estate, Kennedy Wilson, and Topland.”
