Speculative industrial development underway at Exeter’s Matford Green Business Park

Work has commenced on a 22,300 sq ft speculative industrial unit at Matford Green Business Park in Exeter. The development by Eagle One follows the successful letting of the previous phase to Johnsons Workwear.

Although designed as one unit, Unit J will be capable of being split into two units providing accommodation of 13,350 sq ft and 8,900 sq ft. It is scheduled for practical completion in October 2022 and provides high quality space, with three loading doors, 8m eaves height, rooftop solar PVs and ample car parking.

Demand in the industrial sector is unprecedented, says Noel Stevens of Alder King who is jointly marketing the unit with Colliers.

“Take-up of industrial space in and around Exeter last year was at its highest level for five years, leaving supply at a record low. Eagle One’s latest development is responding to this market dynamic with a scheme of the highest quality that meets the demands of modern industrial occupiers. Early market reaction has been extremely positive.”

Tom Watkins of Colliers said: “We have already seen strong interest in this speculative unit from a variety of users and fully expect to have the scheme let in its entirety well in advance of completion this autumn.”

Phil Moore of Eagle One added: “We are committed to delivering the highest quality accommodation at Matford Green and are delighted with the interest already shown.”

Since the VW dealership was completed in 2015 additional car dealerships have been developed at Matford Green for Audi, Toyota / Lexus, Land Rover / Jaguar, Ford, Mazda, Jeep and Fiat.
