RO Land appoints Ed Norris as Planning Manager

Ed Norris

The RO Group has announced the appointment of Ed Norris, who has joined the RO Land team as Land and Planning Manager. Ed will primarily be based in the Group’s Potters Bar office.

RO Land was established in 2020 to build on the Group’s existing successes in land acquisition and planning with the primary objective of adding value to land by unlocking its development potential.

Ed joins the Group from Aitchison Raffety, where he has worked as a Senior Planning Consultant. He managed various planning applications, including the preparation of Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements and responses to various planning consultations on behalf of individuals and town/parish councils. He was also responsible for planning appraisals, appeals, local plan representations/examinations and applications from single unit residential schemes up to 150 unit schemes.

Prior to that Ed worked as a Senior Planner at DLP Planning, where he successfully prepared and submitted planning applications to numerous local authorities. Ed was also employed as a Planning Research Officer and then Planning Policy Officer with East Northamptonshire Council.

Ed holds a Master’s Degree in Spatial Planning and is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Edward Rowlandson, Group Managing Director, RO Group commented:

“RO Land seeks to promote greenfield and brownfield sites for a wide range of uses, including residential, commercial, and alternative development such as renewables. We have a long track record of working in partnership with landowners through promotion agreements and options, although the Group also has the resources to buy sites outright.

“Ed brings a broad range of complementary skills to our organisation, having worked in both the public and private sectors. This experience is invaluable to us, as our business requires not only a methodical approach, but also a practical understanding of how both sectors and their decision making processes operate. His experience working on projects ranging from small green belt sites to major residential schemes dovetails perfectly with our wider commercial activities and corporate strategy. I would like to welcome him to the team and wish him every success in his new role.”
