Halls helps graduates build careers in property

Worcester-based property consultants Halls have helped two graduates get off to a promising start in their property careers having recently qualified as chartered surveyors.

Tom Pike and Naomi Bloxham joined Halls as graduate surveyors after gaining degrees in Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University College. Both have recently completed their formal training within Halls’ rural team and are now fully-fledged chartered surveyors.

Tom, aged 25, said: “I joined Halls soon after graduating with a degree that was specifically tailored for becoming a rural chartered surveyor. Halls initially employed me to assist with the day-to-day management of a large, diverse estate in the Midlands. After two years of practical experience, followed by an Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), I gained the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accreditation.

“Halls supported me throughout my experience by enabling me to shadow other chartered surveyors within the firm and providing me with external training. My future at Halls will involve continued management of the estate, with particular focus on increasing its efficiency, and sales and disposals for our private and local clients.”

Naomi, aged 24, said: “Halls has given me the opportunity to get involved in a variety of work, which has enriched my experience and allowed me to take on lead roles on many jobs. The company has been extremely supportive in my training and has greatly assisted me in gaining my qualifications, which helped me to pass the APC first time.”

Keen to progress further within the industry, Tom and Naomi will sit the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) exams in the next 12 months.

Paul Bowness, associate partner in Halls’ rural team, said: “We saw great potential in these two graduates. They have proven to be key members of the rural team and we are very pleased to have been able to assist them in becoming professionally qualified.”

Halls provides specialist land and property consultancy services to a wide range of clients throughout Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and the wider Midlands region.
