Paignton town centre coffee shop sells

With the area’s reputation and population continuing to grow, it was no surprise the former Café Jilbert premises, nestled just off Victoria Square’s pedestrianised sector, within central Paignton, gained such a great amount of interest before being sold. The sale is the latest leasehold transaction to complete by market leading specialists Charles Darrow.

The business, which is located opposite Lidi supermarket and on a popular cut through to the multi-story carpark, attracted a great amount of attention from a wide range of operators before being snapped up by the new owners. With the completion of the leasehold sale, it means the local buyers can take full advantage of the brisk, summer trade.

Benefitting from a great amount of footfall year-round, the café’s open plan trading area has seen a swift programme of refurbishment allowing the revamped café to open just one week after the keys were collected!

Newly named “Avenue Coffee House” has a stylish, urban interior with covers for around 40 guests, all being treated to some of the best coffee and cakes in Paignton!

The modern and fresh interior is set to be a big hit with customers new and old, and will no doubt ensure the café will move from strength to strength in the coming months. Avenue Coffee House owner, Jack Dennant, is looking forward to greeting new customers, and offer fantastic, locally sourced coffee along with homemade cakes and treats.

James Sanders Associate Director at Charles Darrow Commented: “The sale marks another leasehold transaction in the Torbay, which remains very popular with buyers who want to benefit from the large staycation volume”

“Paignton, in particular, is clearly benefitting from large scale investment in the form of two new hotels, and with further town centre improvements earmarked, the area will only attract more high-quality business, which is great for the locals, visitors and the Town”.

“It was a pleasure to work with the former owners, and the new owner Jack, who has plenty of great ideas for the café. We wish him every success with his new venture”.
