Industrial centre attracts firms following refurbishment

A company that imports and distributes household goods has agreed a lease on a Bedfordshire warehouse unit at an industrial estate following an extensive refurbishment programme, commercial property consultancy Kirkby Diamond has announced.

Rotor Services has taken a five-year lease on the 6,727 sq ft unit four just weeks after the refurbishment project at Sandy Industrial Centre, Blaydon Road, Sandy, reached completion.

Kirkby Diamond client Petchey Holdings acquired the 17,000 sq ft building on the site in late 2020 and has converted it into four industrial units. Rotor Services is the first new tenant and will use the unit for storage and distribution.

Associate surveyor Paul Quy said: “We have had a wonderful response from local businesses to the refurbished space at Sandy Industrial Estate. Within a very short period of time we were able to conclude the deal with Rotor Services on unit four, while unit one is also under offer to a local business that needs a head office and distribution centre.

“Units two and three, which are 3,132 sq ft and 3,261 sq ft respectively, are still available but we have had numerous enquiries and we are confident that they won’t remain on the market for too long.”
