Vehicle repair centre expands into new premises at Wellington Industrial Estate

An independent vehicle accident repair centre has almost tripled the size of its operation by moving into newly refurbished premises at Wellington Industrial Estate in Bilston.

AF Accident Repair Centre (AF ARC) has relocated to an 18,500 sq ft industrial unit on Bean Road, which is owned and managed by Birmingham-based property company, Hortons’ Estate Limited.

The firm has signed a 10-year lease on the unit, having previously occupied a smaller facility on the same estate.

Ben Lycett, business development manager AF ARC, said that the new premises will provide the extra space and state-of-the-art equipment it requires to continue to grow the business.

“The expansion of our business to this new unit is the culmination of an exciting twelve months,” he said. “Despite the obvious hurdles we all faced last year, AF ARC continues to go from strength to strength. We’ve been winning large amounts of work from within our area and with a new management team in place, we have been able to maximise throughput via our current unit. Quite simply, we’ve outgrown our existing premises and this move is a progressive new development for us as part of the ongoing re-shaping of our business. We have already invested significantly in cutting edge equipment, allowing us to keep up to date with advancing technologies. Hortons’ has given us constant support throughout the move and we have worked together to give the unit its ‘AF’ feel.”

Jeremy Boothroyd, management surveyor, Hortons’, said: “We are very pleased to have assisted AF ARC in fulfilling its business ambitions. This unit has been significantly transformed to meet AF ARC’s desired specification and will provide the company with a long-term business hub to facilitate its continued growth. The relocation will create an opportunity for another occupier to secure premises at Wellington Industrial Estate and we anticipate refurbishing the vacant facility by the end of Q2 2021.”

Extending to over 750,000 sq ft, the multi-let Wellington Industrial Estate is home to existing occupiers including Union Steel Tubes, Road Freight Services and Chase Equipment.
