Continued business growth has prompted Birmingham-based mechanical and electrical building services provider J S Wright to appoint Ian Hill as its first Commercial Manager.

Based at its Aston headquarters but also serving its London office, Ian will manage the financing of J S Wright’s UK-wide M&E projects, ensuring these are all protected from commercial risk and achieve their full objectives.

With almost 25 years of commercial experience in contracting and consultancy, Ian was previously Midlands regional commercial manager for a multinational support services and construction group. Prior to that, he was associate director for a multinational professional services consultancy responsible for the delivery of all M&E services outside London.

Ian, who lives in South Staffordshire, has a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in The Cost Management of Building Engineering Services from Nottingham Trent University. He is also a Member of the Association of Cost Engineers.

Phil Leech, Managing Director of J S Wright, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ian to our senior leadership team. His vast experience and expertise will support and strengthen the commercial functions within our growing business, ensuring that we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of clients while ensuring that all our projects are protected from risk.”

Growing as a £50million business in its 130th year, J S Wright is currently working on some of the UK’s biggest residential and mixed-use projects including Castle Park View in Bristol and The Silk District, Nine Elms, and Wimbledon Grounds in London.

Established in Birmingham in 1890, J S Wright designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains mechanical and electrical services for the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure, and commercial sectors. The company has a residential maintenance company, Wright Maintenance Ltd, that serves property managers and homeowners across London.

The company was voted one of the UK’s Top Ten Specialist Contractors to Work For in the 2016 Construction Enquirer Awards and was a finalist in three categories in the 2018 H&V News Awards.
