Chamber launches Recovery Hub for businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire

A leading business organisation has launched a new hub for companies in Coventry and Warwickshire to help the regional economy move into the recovery phase.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has created a Covid-19 Recovery Hub that will keep firms updated with all the latest information on Government guidance through to opportunities to bid for new contracts.

It has been designed to help companies across the region to prepare for first steps being taken to get the economy moving again.

As more guidance emerges from Government, it will be added to the hub but there will also be information available on HR, workplace cleaning, health and safety and available support.

There will also be a chance for suppliers of items such as PPE and hand-sanitizer to register as well as businesses producing items such as signage or ‘zoning’ equipment to help companies ensure staff are socially distancing.

And there will be information on online events and webinars to help businesses with training and information on dealing with Covid-19 and the return to work.

Louise Bennett, chief executive of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said businesses have shown they are ready to get back to work but only when they feel it is safe for them to do so.

She said: “Our evidence tells us that many companies across the patch are ready to return but the health of their workforce is their number one priority.

“The message remains from Government that if you can work from home, you must continue to do so but some sectors will need employees in the workplace, such as manufacturing and construction.

“The Covid-19 Recovery Hub is here to support firms as we start to edge towards the restart and recovery phases for the economy. It is going to take time, but we want to ensure that businesses can access all of the information they need and also support them during this time when work can resume but with social distancing measures in place.

“The hub offers a range of guidance and support to firms that will help them through the stages of recovery that will happen over the coming days, weeks and months ahead.

“Coventry and Warwickshire has one of the most robust economies in the UK and we will all be working as hard as we possibly can to see it recover and grow as soon as possible.”
