Harris Lamb sells Bromsgrove industrial freehold to battery wholesaler for £1.2million

Commercial agents at Harris Lamb have sold a Bromsgrove industrial building to a leading battery manufacturer for in excess of £1 million.

The business was instructed to sell the freehold of Plot 11 Cartwright Road, on Saxon Business Park in Stoke Prior, by a private family client, which also owns the successful Worcestershire-based floor coverings business Falcon Contract Flooring.

Sara Garratt, who oversaw the deal, said: “Further to Falcon Contract Flooring signing a 12-year lease on a 28,500 sq ft warehouse at Potter Space Droitwich in 2024, the family instructed us to sell their Stoke Prior property to capitalise on the demand for freehold warehousing in Worcestershire.

“Freehold industrial opportunities within the wider Midlands are rarely brought to market, so there was significant interest from potential buyers keen to take ownership of this modern property on a well-established business park with great access links.

“The building itself, which has a 9,672 sq ft floor plate, comprises of a detached modern warehouse with two-storey offices fitted out to a high specification.

“The property also benefits from loading area and car park to the front and a secure, gated yard to the rear. The estate itself is well established and provides excellent links to the UK motorway network courtesy of Junction 5 of the M5, which lies three miles away,” Sara said.

“The location and specification of the building resulted in a number of enquiries and offers and was sold to Fogstar, the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-quality lithium batteries, for £1.2 million,” she added.

Ian Hasall, Chairman of Falcon Contract Flooring, said: “This building has been part of our family’s business journey for many years, so the decision to sell wasn’t taken lightly. Following our move to new premises, it felt like the right time to pass the property on to a business that can make the most of it. We were really encouraged by the level of interest and are pleased it’s been acquired by Fogstar, whose ambitions and growth reflect the strength of the location. Harris Lamb and Sara in particular, handled the sale with professionalism and care throughout.”

Ben Facer, Managing Director of Fogstar, added: “This acquisition represents a strategic investment in our long-term growth. The quality of the building, combined with its location and excellent motorway connectivity, made it an ideal fit for Fogstar as we continue to scale our UK operations. Harris Lamb handled the transaction professionally from start to finish.”
