A new real estate consultancy specialising in investment, leasing and bespoke office advice has today (Tuesday 20th January) launched in Birmingham, with Midlands IPF Lifetime Award winner Simon Robinson and commercial agency specialist Julie Perks at the helm.

RP Capital promises to bring experienced, trusted, and effective advice to the field, drawing on 50 years of combined expertise operating within the Midlands commercial property sector.

Having left BNP Paribas Real Estate in December last year, the two believe the time is right to bring a new offering to the market.

Simon, a founding member of GBR in 2003 prior to it becoming GBR Phoenix Beard and subsequently being acquired by Savills, has been Head of Midlands and Southwest at BNP Paribas Real Estate since 2014. A veteran within the region’s investment sector, he was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Midlands Investment Property Forum dinner in 2024.

Simon said he was excited to launch RP Capital onto the Midlands scene alongside Julie.

“I know the Midlands real estate market and its characteristics, and it excites me to jointly set up a new, niche business. There are plenty of property specialists operating within the region, but we believe our combined experience and reputation provide a strong platform.

“Birmingham has always been a dynamic commercial property market, and far from launching from a standing start, we have secured a number of leasing mandates throughout Birmingham, Edgbaston and Solihull.

“RP Capital will operate from the city’s CBD, having taken space at 126 Colmore Row, so we will be right at the heart of the action,” he added.

Julie, who spent more than 15 years with BNP, added: “The UK property market has been subject to some extraordinary challenges over the past five years, including the pandemic and geopolitical changes, but the Birmingham market has remained resilient with strong demand from occupiers.

“Simon and I pride ourselves on our insight, expertise and clarity, and that will be at the core of what RP Capital stands for. Our clients can depend on us for bespoke advice and practical solutions as we work with them to identify the right opportunities, create tailored solutions to their needs and support them through complex decisions.
