Broadstone plans expansion in Birmingham’s Newater House

Nurton Developments has completed the letting of 3,920 sq ft at Newater House, Birmingham, to Broadstone, further strengthening the line-up of professional occupiers at the city centre building.

Broadstone, one of the UK’s leading independent consultancies delivering expert advice to employers, insurers, pension scheme trustees and lenders, is moving from The Mailbox having established a successful presence in the city centre in 2024.

Over the past year Broadstone has achieved significant growth, expanding from 15 to 21, following an increase in client contracts across all of the firm’s business lines.

The move to Newater House provides a permanent base in Birmingham with space for further expansion supporting its commitment to the city and wider region. The new suite also enables Broadstone to host internal and external events with greater ease, capitalising on its easily accessible city centre Midland’s location.

Jeremy Clack, head of Midlands Advisory at Broadstone: “We’re delighted to have a new home in Birmingham alongside our existing office in Redditch which is also undergoing refurbishment. It underlines our commitment to providing two high-quality offices and client spaces in the Midlands. Together, these signal our intent to continue Broadstone’s growth in both regional and national markets.

“We were particularly attracted to Newater due to its location in the heart of the business district, making it extremely accessible for our colleagues and clients. Its outstanding facilities, natural light and high-quality fitout makes it an ideal environment to attract and retain top talent. We’re looking forward to utilising the eighth-floor roof terrace once refurbishment is complete, as an additional space for hosting client events.

Clack added: “The move also highlights our ambition to reduce our carbon footprint by bringing people together in the city centre, where the office is within walking distance of both clients and Birmingham’s main railway stations.”

Broadstone has taken a fully fitted, Cat B “Plug & Play” suite at Newater House, delivered towards the end of last year in response to rising demand for ready-to-use offices. The fully fitted offices include kitchens, breakout areas, and meeting spaces already in place.

Newater House’s location, combined with the quality of its fully furnished, light-filled workspace and access to a wide range of nearby amenities, has already attracted a leading specialist surveying practice, Anstey Horne and Regina restaurant.

Superfast connectivity, modern air-conditioning, LED lighting, and acoustic finishes ensure businesses can be operational from day one, without the cost and delays associated with fitting out.

Rupert Young, development consultant at Nurton Developments, said:

“We recognised a growing appetite in the market for high-quality, fitted space and made the decision to speculatively deliver Plug & Play suites at Newater House.

“The response has been very encouraging, with Broadstone’s commitment further underlining the demand for flexible, ready-to-occupy offices in Birmingham.”

Fully fitted, Plug & Play suites from 1,824 sq ft up to whole floors of 3,927 sq ft remain available to let.
