Coventry-based FireAngel, one of the UK’s leading fire safety technology companies, is set to move into the Bourn Building, creating a new European headquarters in the heart of the city.
Rooted in Coventry since 1998, the £70 million turnover business employs 110 people across the UK, with 91 staff to be based at Bourn.
Recently acquired by Ningbo-based Siterwell Electronics Company, FireAngel made the decision to remain in Coventry to retain its loyal and highly skilled workforce, while securing a modern, sustainable base to support its global growth ambitions.
FireAngel join existing occupiers Corona Energy, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Global Insurance Management, and Dexcel Pharma, with only 18,300 sq ft now remaining at the Bourn Building.
Nick Rutter, CEO of FireAngel, said:
“FireAngel has always called Coventry home and we’re proud to be remaining in the city. We have a loyal, skilled workforce and it was important to us to ensure they remain at the heart of our future.
“Bourn’s people-first approach, with its wellbeing focus and sense of community, really stood out to us and reflects our own values as a company. As one of the largest suppliers to the Fire and Rescue Service we are big supporters of their charitable work alongside the Alzheimer’s Society.
“The strong sustainability credentials of Bourn were really the icing on the cake – providing us with a workplace fit for a European HQ that will attract global attention.”
Located in the heart of Coventry, Bourn provides a net zero-ready, smart-enabled environment designed to meet the needs of modern forward-thinking businesses.
The building is powered by renewable energy, holds a BREEAM Very Good certification and an EPC A rating, EV charging points, a cycle hub with maintenance stations, first-class changing facilities, and a Social Hub designed to foster collaboration and wellbeing.
Rob Hemus, Director of Asset Management and Sustainability at IM Properties, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome FireAngel to Bourn. As a Coventry success story with global ambitions, FireAngel reflects exactly the type of innovative, people-focused business we wanted to attract here. Their commitment to their workforce and community mirrors our vision at Bourn as a place where modern businesses can continue to grow and deliver jobs.”
At Bourn, the focus is on creating a thriving occupier community. A dedicated building app and concierge service connect companies with bespoke events, promotions and wellbeing activities, alongside exclusive local discounts.
The approach is designed not only to support employees but also to embed Bourn in the community, building relationships with independent businesses and local charitable organisations in and around Coventry through their IM Properties’ Community Fund.
The building also offers high-speed, dual-entry fibre ethernet infrastructure to keep occupiers future-proofed in a digital-first environment, with air quality monitoring, indoor greenery and outdoor seating areas enhancing wellbeing across the workplace.
CBRE and Bromwich Hardy are acting as agents on Bourn. Carter Jonas acted on behalf of FireAngel.
