A new Acanthus Park warehouse development has been hailed as Redditch’s first speculative Grade A industrial unit to be built since the 2008 recession.
Ben Truslove, a director of property agents John Truslove, appointed to market the building along with Lambert Smith Hampton and JLL, said it was “wonderful news” for the town.
The recent announcement of the 50,433 sq ft facility by specialist commercial property developer Hamdon Gate followed the pre-letting of a 110,000 sq ft industrial warehouse to logistics firm AMCO Services (International) Ltd.
Mr Truslove said the new unit would create 20-50 jobs with a single let being sought.
“I expect it to generate plenty of interest,” he commented. “We are already seeing inquiries, with both blue-chip companies and local firms making contact.
“It will appeal to logistics and distribution companies as well as manufacturers.
“The Acanthus Park development is a first for almost a decade and another example of how attractive Redditch is to those who need to be in the centre of the country and require great communications. It is a huge vote of confidence.”
Acanthus Park is in excess of ten acres – the warehouse features 10-metre clear internal height, two storey office/ancillary accommodation, five dock loading doors, two level access loading doors, and secure gated yard.
Existing occupiers on Ravensbank Business Park, of which Acanthus Park is part, include Intier Automotive, Johnson Controls, Heller UK, Lear Corporation, St Ives, John Lewis and the SP Group.
