Chartered Building Surveyor

Are you a Chartered Building Surveyor looking for a role with a difference? If so then read on…. This role is UK and Europe based working in commercial and industrial property for major lenders. You will be working in a team of professionals from engineers to architects. The majority of the clients you will be working for will be in the debt and =equity market and you will be looking at the properties involved in transactional deals with refinance of property being the biggest part of the role.

The surveys themselves will involve condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, schedules of repairs etc… The projects range across the commercial and industrial sector from hotels in UK listed buildings, Supermarket chains in the Netherlands and Spain, London office blocks to German industrial warehouses. This ensures you will always be presented with new challenging projects to work on and the opportunity to travel across Europe working for different high-profile clients.

They work had and have a high turn over on projects getting the work done and writing the reports which they keen concise and to the point as much as possible. You will be an integral member of the small team in Europe but working with a number of sub-contractors and associates along the way.

You will need to be MRICS Qualified with at least 2 years PQE and be confident in your abilities to carry out surveys autonomously. On site you will be working with different teams within the company depending on the nature of the projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and ambitious surveyor to really make their mark within the industry in an unusual an exciting role. You will be client facing and therefore excellent communication skills are a necessity, foreign languages are an added bonus but not in any way essential as even when working in Europe you will be onsite with local members of the team which will eliminate and language barriers.

This company is not your usual property firm they take a more relaxed approach to things and are more often than not in jeans and a polo shirt rather than shirt and tie. They have a small office in the West End but actively encourage home working and flexible hours. It is a role where some days there my be a need to work 12 hours to get a project turned around but other days it could be a swift 6.
